Dr. Marcelo Leonardi is now in his third season as head coach for the Michigan women's water polo team. Leonardi was introduced as the new coach on May 30, 2014, becoming the third coach in U-M history.
In two seasons, Leonardi is 49-21 at Michigan. He increased the team's win total by 11 from year one to year two. He coached Ali Thomason into becoming the first first team All-American in program history. Six have earned All-America recognition in his two years. He has coached seven All-CWPA selections, including the 2016 Player and Rookie of the Year

Sydney Sonoda is the assistant coach for the University of Michigan water polo team. Sonoda, a former player for Leonardi at Cal State Northridge, landed her first college coaching job after coaching the last two years at Murrieta Valley High School and Elite Waterpolo Club in Murrieta, California. She is currently apart of the USA waterpolo ODP system, coaching in the Great Lakes area.

Andrew Silva is the USA Water Polo Regional Goalkeeper Coach in the Olympic Development Program and Assistant Coach for the Women’s National Teams.

Josh Hower is in his first season as an assistant coach for the University of Michigan water polo team. He was hired in December 2017. Hower came to Ann Arbor from Corona, California, where he kept himself very busy in a variety of coaching roles. He served as an assistant coach for the men's and women's water polo teams at Pomona-Pitzer (2015-17), coached in the Olympic Development Program (ODP), was an age group coach at Foothill Club Water Polo and coached at both St. Lucy Priory and Chino high schools.

HOWEVER, CAMP ATTENDANCE AT MICHIGAN (INCLUDING ATTENDANCE AT ELITE OR ADVANCED CAMPS) IS NEVER RESTRICTED BY A CAMPER'S SKILL LEVEL OR COMPETITIVE EXPERIENCE.
